Low Monomer
In addition to optimizing the use of materials and subsequent energy required, safety is a value at H.B. Fuller. A new REACH restriction rule for diisocyanates was published in August 2020 that presents clear rules related to the safe handling of diisocyanates and the avoidance of skin and respiratory sensitization.
We have a range of low monomer content products - below 0.1% of monomeric diisocyanate weight - for the majority of our woodworking applications. Our low monomer HMMC adhesives are free from hazardous labeling, exempt from ECHA restriction, and support safe and non-hazardous conditions at workplaces.
We also are widening our low monomer technology product range to all woodworking applications and incorporating the mass balance approach to these products. By exploring innovative alternatives, we are helping to create a safe future for polyurethane products, while also working to reduce our carbon footprint.
Our low monomer products for woodworking applications:
- Rakoll 4020 - Polyurethane-based reactive hot melt adhesive for edgebanding
- Rakoll 5010 and 5016 - Polyurethane-based reactive hot melt adhesive for flat lamination
